Allow me to bring you up to speed…

Welcome to the newly created toddkitchen.com. News about my musical life will show up here. For lack of a backlog of news events, I’ll provide a brief recap of the past year. I just finished the first year of my MFA at Brandeis, where I studied composition with Eric Chasalow. During the Fall semester I completed my first major piano work, “Sonata for Piano and Tape,” which was accepted to the SEAMUS national conference and the National Student Electronic Music Event (NSEME). In December I got married (not musical news per se, but still a pretty big deal). In March I had two back-to-back premiers, the first being “Heavens, Earth, Seas, Fields, Trees,” which was written for Talea Ensemble, and the following being the premier of my aforementioned “Sonata” by Kathy Supové. In between these major events I juggled coursework and my job as music department AV guy. I have a busy summer but am looking forward to next year (and my thesis…). More news to come… TK
